The Grand Palace Tavel Guide
The Grand Palace is one of the top places to visit in Bangkok, it is a mammoth structure of unique design and having a rich history to its name. Area built by king Rama V to commemorate the centenary of the Chakri dynasty. The palace has been the official residence of the Kings of Siam since 1782, it is still used for official events, several royal ceremonies and state functions are held within the walls of the palace every year. Grand Palace is huge and there are lots of rooms inside which would take some time for exploration, it's an interesting combination of European building and Thai roof. Rather than being a single structure, the Grand Palace is made up of numerous buildings, halls, pavilions set around open lawns, gardens and courtyards. It is divided into three main zones, the Outer Court, home to royal offices, public buildings and the Temple of Emerald Buddha;the Middle Court, which is where the most important residential and state buildings are;and the Inner Court, which is exclusively reserved for the king, his queen and his consorts.
