You can buy a card at grocers or kiosks to use in public phones on the street，or you can get a SIM card from one of the Egyptian providers, Mobinil, Etisalat or Vodafone, if you want to use your phone in Egypt.
The official language of the Republic is Modern Standard Arabic. However, the native language in most of the country and the national lingua franca is Egyptian Arabic. The main foreign languages taught in schools, by order of popularity, are English, French, German and Italian. Travellers are unlikely to encounter difficulties finding someone who speaks English, especially in the tourist cities.
Most towns in Egypt have internet cafés, and an increasing number of hotels offer wi-fi now.
